I’m Zach, a photographer with a global footprint, currently based in Colorado. My journey has taken me from the depths of vibrant coral reefs to witnessing forests succumb to disease and fires threatening homes and habitats worldwide. Despite facing chronic health challenges, my passion for capturing the intricate beauty of nature remains undiminished. Utilizing everything from my first Canon PowerShot to my current Canon 7D Mark II, I’ve grown to not just appreciate but deeply admire the sophistication of our natural world.
My work is driven by a desire to share the beauty and wisdom of nature, to cultivate an appreciation for our rapidly declining natural surroundings. Whether it’s the subtle patterns in bark, the delicate formations of ice, or the distant movements captured through my telephoto lens, I find artistic satisfaction in every aspect of the environment. This has led to a profound respect for indigenous cultures, whose reverence and stewardship of the land inspire my approach to both life and photography.
As I traverse and document the essence of the world through my lens, I am perpetually reminded of the lands beneath my feet—lands deeply respected and cared for by indigenous communities for millennia. From the grandeur of the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone, to the ancient ruins of Belize and Mexico, and the expansive, untouched forests that stretch from the islands of Polynesia across continents, these sacred places hold stories of discovery, reverence, and resilience.
I offer my deepest respect to the indigenous peoples for their stewardship and profound connections to these lands. This acknowledgment extends globally, inspired by the diverse cultures and communities that have shaped our understanding of these sacred places. While I grew up a mere five minutes from the Seneca Nation, and hold a special recognition for their wisdom and stewardship, my travels and photography aim to honor the legacy of all indigenous peoples, from the Americas to Polynesia and beyond.
In recognizing the injustices these communities have faced and continue to face, I am dedicated to learning from their wisdom and advocating for their rights and recognition, both in the present and into the future. My photography serves as a tribute to their enduring legacy, a reminder for all of us to honor and safeguard our shared planet.
